Whether demonstrating industrial sewing techniques, introducing principles of apparel pattern drafting, or explaining advanced pattern grading methods, I aim to make technical subjects approachable without sacrificing depth.
College Teaching
Since 2022, I have taught apparel technical design and industrial sewing at George Brown Polytechnic, delivering courses that span beginner to advanced pattern drafting, digital pattern development, grading, marker making, sewing, and textile technology.
In addition to classroom instruction, I have contributed to curriculum redevelopment, by creating and updating course materials to reflect evolving industry practices, software, and manufacturing technologies.
I strive to help students build confidence in technical subjects through demonstration, hands-on learning, and practical problem solving. My goal is to prepare them not only with technical skills, but with the ability to think critically, adapt, and continue learning throughout their careers.

Mathematics Education
My teaching career began with mathematics. Since 2012, I have worked as a private tutor, supporting high school students in Advanced Functions, Calculus and Vectors, and other senior mathematics courses, including the International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum. I have also taught Grade 12 mathematics in a classroom setting and worked as a teaching assistant in an after-school math and reading program for young children.
Mathematics continues to shape the way I approach all teaching. Whether explaining algebraic concepts or garment engineering, I emphasize logical reasoning, clear communication, and helping students understand why something works rather than simply how to do it. This analytical foundation has also led to opportunities to train artificial intelligence models to solve complex mathematical problems.
Outside the Classroom
Education extends beyond formal classroom teaching. Throughout my career, I have contributed to workshops, industry events, research, and technical consulting that promote knowledge sharing within the apparel community. This includes teaching introductory pattern drafting workshops in community spaces, participating in industry panel discussions on apparel technology and sustainability, consulting on emerging digital pattern drafting technologies and garment engineering workflows, and leading research projects with student researchers that integrate technical design education with applied innovation.
Whether working alongside students, researchers, or industry professionals, I love exploring new ideas and helping bridge the gap between traditional craftsmanship, evolving technology, and modern apparel production.
